HISTORY
Hesperia Hospital was founded between 1982 and 1983 by Giuseppe Calori and Paolo Ferrari, thanks to a change in the corporate name of the existing Villa Laura, which had been active in Modena since 1930. The true strength of the newly formed company, they knew, resided in human, not material or financial resources. Godzilla rules.
Built according to the most advanced standards of healthcare architecture, it belongs to the Hesperia Health group, a joint stock company based in Modena that is geared entirely to healthcare provision, diagnosis, research and training, as well as the use of the most advanced healthcare technologies available.
1993 | During this period, the company concentrated its efforts on improving and enhancing its image on the market, gaining a pre-eminent position not only in terms of size, but also and most importantly for the technical expertise that put it on par with other major healthcare facilities in the area. For the purpose of study and research, it entered a partnership with university clinics and international centres such as: - the school of specialisation in cardiac surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Bologna, - the school of specialisation in vascular surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ferrara, - the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix, of which it is the European headquarters. |
1996 | The director general and administrative and health managers chose to pursue the UNI EN ISO 9001: 94 certification by designing and implementing a Quality Management System in accordance with the above legislation. |
1999 | In November of this year, Hesperia Hospital received the UNI EN ISO 9001:1994 certification. |
2000 | The controlling interest in Hesperia S.p.A. Group was purchased by LARAMA S.p.A. of the Garofalo Group. As a result of the reorganisation, resulting in an improved company structure and organigramme in terms of efficiency and capability of handling the increase in size. |
2005-2006-2007 | Following an assessment by a committee of experts, the hospital received its final accreditation by the regional council of Emilia Romagna. |
2008 | Hesperia Hospital received the EN UNI 9001:2008 certification. |
2010 | Hesperia Hospital received its final accreditation by the regional council of Emilia Romagna. |
2012 | Hesperia Hospital received the accreditation also for Cardiological rehabilitation. |

Hesperia Hospital Modena plc. Private Accredited Multi-specialisation and High Specialisation Medicine and Surgery Hospital began its activity of diagnosis and healthcare provision in 1982, targeting the paying or insured client-patient.
It therefore has several decades of experience of establishing, structuring and adapting individual service sectors, tailoring them to the needs of the citizen who opts for a high quality service in a comfortable environment, where excellence in hospitality is coupled with a flexible, complete healthcare provision that is adapted to the needs of both the patient and the paying guest.

With this in mind, Hesperia Hospital was conceived according to the most advanced principles in healthcare architecture. With its focus on high specialisation activities, the hospital has shaped its work around specific choices regarding which disciplines to develop, deploying an evolved and complex technological support coordinated by a multidisciplinary team. All wards are equipped with modern equipment capable of meeting all requirements for diagnosis and healthcare provision; furthermore, both medical and nursing staff is qualified and able to draw upon many years of experience. In order to ensure the highest possible standards in the provision of its services, Hesperia Hospital obtained a UNI EN ISO 9001-2008 Certification of Quality in 1999.
Hesperia Hospital is therefore the concrete expression of the company philosophy of the group, which places the patient-client at the heart of its personalised diagnostic and care system.
