CODE OF ETHICS AND MODEL 231
The Prof. Nobili Nursing Home S.r.l., subject to the direction and coordination of Garofalo Health Care S.p.A, has adopted an Organisation, Management and Control Model, pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001, and a Group Code of Ethics as a management tool and effective element of its strategy and business organisation.
CODE OF ETHICS
The Code of Ethics of the Garofalo Health Care Group, approved by resolution by the Prof. Nobile Nursing Home S.r.l. Board of Directors on 14 September 2018, was drawn up to clearly define the ethical values of the Group and serve as an essential element of the Group’s corporate culture, as well as define the rules of conduct by which staff carry out their professional duties, and the rules of conduct for dealing with shareholders, customers, suppliers, colleagues, public administration officials, and with all other stakeholders with whom the Group has relations.
The Group's Mission was taken into account when drawing up the Code of Ethics. GHC’s Mission aims at developing the Group’s capacity to bring together health facilities of excellence, thereby strengthening GHC’s potential and leveraging its resources to enable it to become the first healthcare group of reference at the national level. GHC’s mission also aims at creating a high-quality model through its "patient-centred" approach, which takes into account the preferences, needs and values of individual patients when making clinical decisions. In this way, the patient is placed firmly at the centre of the system.
The Group’s guiding principle: "Health is a person’s most valuable asset", was inspired by Prof. Raffaele Garofalo. All of the Group’s stakeholders abide by this principle and affirm the importance of health as a primary asset, as no human being can do without it, and as such, it must be safeguarded by guaranteeing professionalism and excellence.

MODEL 231
Model 231, approved by the Prof. Nobile Nursing Home S.r.l. Board on 5 October 2018, responds to specific provisions contained in Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001 aimed at preventing the commission of certain types of crimes (on the basis of which, seemingly committed to benefit the company, may involve administrative liability for a crime under the provisions of the said decree).
The Board of Directors of the Prof. Nobile Nursing Home S.r.l. has also established a Supervisory Body, endowed with independent powers of initiative and control, which will be responsible for monitoring compliance with Model 231 and promoting its continued updating. The Supervisory Body has been assigned, inter alia, the tasks of:
- Verifying the actual adoption and correct application of the control protocols provided for by Model 231. It should be noted, however, that control activities are delegated to the primary responsibility of the operational management and are considered as a fundamental element of each corporate process ("line control"). Hence the importance of a staff training programme.
- Conducting periodic audits, also with the operational support of the secretariat, focused on particular operations or specific deeds, executed in the context of sensitive activities, the results of which will be summarised in a specific report and included in communications to corporate bodies, as described below
- Collecting, processing and storing all relevant information regarding compliance with Model 231.
- Monitoring initiatives to disseminate knowledge and understanding of Model 231.
- Any violation or suspected violation of Model 231 must be reported to the Supervisory Board.
