Bone densitometry

It determines bone mineral density, making it possible to diagnose and evaluate the evolution of osteoporosis, some metabolic bone diseases, infections, fractures or tumors.

The exam is recommended for women after 65 years of age. Individual risk includes several factors: previous fractures, cigarette smoking, alcohol abuse, rheumatoid arthritis, family history of hip fractures, chronic kidney and liver disease, chronic respiratory disease, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and other risk factors.
